Beacon Place is a redevelopment of Lighthouse\u2019s first multi-family affordable housing development project, Beacon Square &amp; Townhomes, dating back to 2008. Units there will be updated and modernized.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThese projects reflect what\u2019s possible when public and private partners come together with urgency and purpose,\u201d Hertz added. \u201cWe\u2019re building more than housing, we\u2019re building community resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All units will be affordable, with rents subsidized based on tenant income \u2013\u00a0 meaning residents will pay no more than one-third of their gross income toward rent. A portion of the apartments are designated for supportive housing, serving residents with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11332 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.lighthousemi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/31114523\/TD3A6006-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.lighthousemi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/31114523\/TD3A6006-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cdn.lighthousemi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/31114523\/TD3A6006-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cdn.lighthousemi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/31114523\/TD3A6006-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cdn.lighthousemi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/31114523\/TD3A6006-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/cdn.lighthousemi.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/31114523\/TD3A6006-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Auburn Place and Beacon Place are part of Lighthouse\u2019s growing pipeline of affordable housing projects, now totaling $150 million in real estate development in Detroit and Pontiac, including multiple affordable and supportive housing projects, and an expansion of Lighthouse\u2019s family emergency shelter and main campus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That figure represents nearly three times the scale of our previous affordable housing development efforts to date. The expanded work is driven by increased internal capacity, strategic partnerships, creative financing, and a deep commitment to meeting both local and statewide needs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Pontiac projects follow the start of redevelopment work at Lee Plaza in Detroit, where Lighthouse is part of the development team along with Roxbury Group and Ethos Development Partners. The 16-story building at 2240 W.
