Honey\u2019s CEO will compete in Dancing with the Detroit Stars to help raise $100,000 and expand services for women in PATH program<\/em><\/p>\n

Moms make things happen, and a newly launched fund-raising campaign to help women in Lighthouse\u2019s PATH program is a shining example.<\/p>\n

More than 200 supporters turned out for the Golden Light Gala on Oct. 3 to help celebrate the launch of a new partnership between Lighthouse and Honey Space For Moms \u2013 a one-stop support shop for metro Detroit moms, located in Ferndale.<\/p>\n

The goal: to raise $100,000 and bring Honey Space\u2019s therapy and prenatal and breastfeeding support groups to women in the Lighthouse PATH program, which helps women who\u2019ve endured domestic violence or homelessness get back on the road to self-sufficiency.<\/p>\n

The evening was filled with hope, hugs and a surprise announcement for guests.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be competing in Lighthouse\u2019s Dancing with the Detroit Stars fund-raiser in November!\u201d said Brooke Miller, CEO and founder of Honey Space for Moms. \u201cI can\u2019t wait! Lighthouse is such a tremendous organization and we look forward to bringing Honey\u2019s services to moms who really need it.\u201d<\/p>\n

As guests arrived at Honey\u2019s newly expanded clubhouse, a warm glow emanated from the storefront. Outside, Lighthouse pantry manager James McQueen helped to collect donated supplies for moms in need. By evening\u2019s end, a Lighthouse van was packed to the brim with car seats and other must-haves for new moms.<\/p>\n

Inside, guests enjoyed appetizers, mingled and marveled at the beautiful space.<\/p>\n

Throughout the event, a projector displayed a real-time tally of funds raised for this campaign. \u00a0To date, thousands have been been raised to bring Honey services to women in the Lighthouse PATH program. But more help is needed.<\/p>\n
